5 Real Flying Cars in the World

The idea of Real flying cars sounds like fiction even in the year 2021 when we have semi-autonomous cars around us. But believe it or not, some companies have taken up the daring task of making flying cars, and here are the top five of them that are most likely to lift off the ground in the near future.

PAL-V

PAL-V, 5 Real Flying Cars in the World

The Dutch three-wheeler car seems like a normal car on the front but its extended rear wheels and the flying mechanism on the roof give away its unique ability of flying just in a matter of minutes. Engineered in the Netherlands, the design philosophy has been inspired by the Italians which is the reason behind its sleek looks. The two-seater, twin-engine flying car can fly at a maximum speed of 180km/h and can attain a maximum height of nearly 3300 meters which is very close to a light aircraft. With a maximum flight time of 4 hours, the car can land nearly anywhere just like a normal helicopter.

Aeromobil 4.0

The Aeromobil 4.0 is a futuristic flying car that will be ready to rule the skies by 2023. The Slovakian car perfectly combines the looks of a traditional car with the next generation of concept cars which are further complemented by its retractable wings that ultimately make it a flying machine in under three minutes. Handcrafted and sophistically developed for more than 10 years, the Aeromobil 4.0 is specially developed for the ultra-rich and can fly at a maximum speed of 260 km/h with an estimated flying range of more than 700 km.

EHANG 184

The EHANG 184 is a quadcopter unlike any other you have ever seen. The eight propellers work in conjunction to lift the quadcopter high above the skyscrapers and are powerful enough to propel the quadcopter at speeds of more than 100km/h. The most surprising feature of the EHANG 184 is that it is completely autonomous and requires no input from its sole occupant. Having undergone rigorous testing for more than three years, the mini-helicopter is almost ready to fly under the toughest weather conditions, both in the day & the night for more than 20 minutes which is sufficient for a compact electric flying machine.

Terrafugia TF-X

Terrafugia TF-X, 5 Real Flying Cars in the World

Dubbed as the “future of the transportation”, the Terrafugia TF-X is a concept flying car that has actually been materialized into an actual model and has received an air-worthiness certificate from FAA just at the start of this year. The TF-X is designed to be compact enough to fit in a garage and at the same time has enough room to pack two retractable wings & propellers on either side. A total of 900hp generated by a hybrid powertrain is enough for the TF-X to reach an estimated cruising speed of 320 km/h with a flight range of 800 km.

The completely autonomous flying car is capable of flying & landing all by itself thanks to the in-flight computer system equipped with several safety mechanisms. The TF-X will be able to seamlessly land anywhere & its capability to transform into a traditional car in a matter of minutes would be one of its main selling points. The engineering marvel is expected to cost above $200,000.

Audi Pop Up Next, 5 Real Flying Cars in the World

Audi is a popular name when it comes to luxury & sports cars and currently, it is also developing a flying car in collaboration with Airbus. The electric flying machine would have a rather average top speed of only 100km/h on the road and a range of just 100 km, but it would be fully autonomous both in its driving & flying mode.

The Audi Pop.Up Next is different from other flying cars in a way its driving & flying mechanisms are automatically detached or attached depending on the mode. The main aim of the project is to bypass & reduce traffic congestion and to make emissions-free urban flying a possible thing in the near future.
